Hey there, I’m Elijah Caldwell. I’m a multi-hyphenate artist Based in New York City.

 

An OBIE Award Winner. Elijah was the Standby in the 2020 Pulitzer Prize for Drama winner , 2020 Drama Desk Awards winner for Best Musical: A Strange Loop. Elijah began his journey to being the artist he is at 5 years old when he began piano lessons. He won his first piano competition at the age of 12 with Scott Joplin’s Maple Leaf Rag! From there, he continued his journey attending the Univeristy of North Carolina At Chapel Hill receiving his Bachelors of Music with a Focus in Piano Performance, and an addition of voice. While at Chapel Hill, He re-discovered his love for Pop, Rock, and RnB when he auditioned and was chosen for The UNC Achordants All-Male A Cappella Group! Here, Elijah found his stride (and can be heard on the tracks Use 2 Love U originally by John Legend and Home originally by Marc Broussard.) Post graduation, Elijah moved directly to New York City to attend the prestigious New York University - Steinhardt School to begin his acting career. Over the course of two years, Elijah fell in love with theatre, one of his favorite roles being Stew in Passing Strange - a show he was cast in at Tisch - that he also got to perform for Stew and Heidi! Elijah has had the pleasure of making a name for himself in New York City. He was fortunate enough to audition and be selected as one of Broadway’s Rising Stars. Thus, 2 months after graduation Elijah made his Off-Broadway debut at The Town Hall, in NYC in front of a crowd of over 1,200 folx. Elijah then went on to work regionally, As Victor in two productions of Smokey Joe’s Cafe. The next year was a busy on for Elijah! He played the titular role in: Mr. Chickee’s Funny Money, Understudying James Hemmings in the Madame Infamy at NYMF, Finally Joining Actor’s Equity Association in the fall of 2014 when he joined the African Choir of Generations at SoHo Repertory Theatre. From There Elijah did many of the early workshops of A Strange Loop and began participating in many new works’ presentations and concerts. Elijah has been seen at 54 Below, Birdland Jazz Club, The Green Room, Triad Theatre NYC, New York Theatre Barn, Drom NYC. Currently Elijah is NYC based where he is has been a member of The Matthew Corozine Acting Studio for a couple of years. Began as an student of Sheri Sanders, which he has now become an Associate for Rock The Audition, and studied at the Jen Waldman studio. Elijah is available for Performance gig, Photoshoots, and Teaching/Consulting inquires.
